“That’s it! You have crossed all limits now!” Alex growled, slamming a hand at my desk.

“What are you going to do? Huh?” I challenged him, raising my chin, “Kill me for expressing my opinion?”

Then, I snatched the paper from his hands, giving him a glare, “It was not meant for you to see, anyways. It’s not my fault if you poke your nose in other people’s business.”

Before Alex could reply, Blake jumped in, “But, I love poking my nose in other people’s business,” then, he took the paper from my hands and started laughing again, “and, I am glad I do, otherwise I would be missing on so much.”

Cameron gave me an apologetic look, “That’s Blake for you,” then, he turned to Alex, “actually, it was my idea. I told her to draw-”

“Why are you taking the blame for me?” I interrupted Cameron, “Sure, you gave me the idea to draw but, the content was all mine.”

From the corner of my eye, I saw Alex’s jaw stiffening. He raised his fist and punched the wall.

Wow! Someone had severe anger issues.

I was treading on a thin line; I knew, but, God, I couldn’t help it!

Alex had closed his eyes now and was heaving deep breaths.

It looked like the volcano was going to explode anytime now.

But, before that could happen, Madison got out of her seat and latched herself onto Cameron’s shoulder.

Blake and Hailey made gagging faces behind her. I couldn’t blame them. I felt like doing the same.

Poor Cameron was so nice and humble that he didn’t even push her away, and sat there in a shock stilled state.

“Oh, Cameron, you are so naïve,” Madison purred, “why are you even sitting with this wimp? And, why are you defending her?”

This girl still hadn’t learnt her lesson after the whole food fight incident.

“Be thankful that he is naïve because, he is still tolerating your poisonous touch,” I told her.

Cameron winced slightly at my words, while Madison blessed me with a rage stricken look.

“What is going on there? Why are you all out of your places?” the teacher called out from the front.

About time. At least he had the decency of looking up from his phone after 123456890 years.

But, the thing was that his effort went to waste because, no one paid him any attention and resumed with whatever they were doing.

“Give that to me. Let me see, what the fuss is all about,” Madison screeched, grabbing the paper from Blake’s hand.

Her face instantly contorted into an ugly scowl upon seeing my artwork. She lifted her head up to give me a vicious look.

And, that was my cue to leave.

Not that I was scared of Madison, the witch. Actually I was more scared of a certain volcano-I mean a certain guy who was still glaring daggers at me.

“Um…I need to pee!” I blurted out, making my way to the front.

On my way, Millie grabbed my hand, stopping me.

“Just an advice. The pee card fails miserably in the end,” she said in amusement. Beside her, Ashton started coughing meaningfully.

I had no idea, what the hell she was talking about, and neither did I have any plan of finding it out at that moment, because what mattered the most was getting away from Alex and Madison.

“I still think that both of you can pass for twins!” I yelled at Alex and Madison, before exiting the classroom.

Last thing I saw before dashing away was their gaping mouths.

I was just walking aimlessly in the corridor, thinking of ways to pass time, when a girl bumped into me.

“Oh, I am so sorry,” she apologized, making sure that the baby in her arms was okay.

Wait…baby?! What was a baby doing inside a high school?

I couldn’t remove my eyes from the cute chubby face of the most adorable baby girl I had ever seen. I leaned down and caressed her cheeks, “Aww, cutie, what’s your name?”

The baby mumbled something in her…baby tongue?

The girl holding her chuckled, “Stella still speaks gibberish. I am Julia by the way,” she introduced, with a smile.

I smiled back awkwardly, “I am Kris Noodl- I mean just Kris. Yeah, I am just Kris.”

Julia frowned slightly at my weird introduction, but let it go.

“Hey, do you know where the detention room is?” she asked.

“Yup, right that way,” I pointed behind me, “but, believe me, you don’t want to go there, crazy people are in there,” I warned her.

Julia winked at me, “Believe me, I know, because I am one of them.”

And, before I could ask her what she meant by that, she had already gone ahead.

Why was everyone hell bent on confusing the crap out of me? I thought I was the one with secrets…

I shrugged away the weird thoughts out of my mind and resumed walking.

However, I had to scream in surprise when suddenly a classroom door opened and I was pulled inside. Soon, my screams got muffled when a hand was slammed against my mouth.

I swear to God if this was Alex-

“Shut the frick up, you murderer,”

All my thoughts concerning Alex flew away when I heard that voice. A voice which was enough to freeze my blood…to haunt my dreams…to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

I was roughly turned around to come face to face with the nightmare I was running from.

“I-Isaac?” I stuttered out, pathetically.

Isaac leered down at me, “Nice to know you haven’t forgotten me, sweetheart.”

The term of endearment he used was making me sick to my stomach. I backed away a step.

“H-how d-did you f-find m-me?”

Isaac threw his head back and started laughing maniacally, “Are you really asking me that, sweetheart?”

“Don’t call me that!” I yelled, taking away numerous steps back this time.

“Why, sweetheart?” he mocked, advancing towards me.

I made a mental apology to Alex. Now, I knew how he must have felt when I kept calling him Alexander.

“Did you really think that you could run away from me?” Isaac continued.

I glanced around myself for any kind of escape, or even anything which I could use as a weapon…

“I wouldn’t do anything here, if I were you,” I told him cautiously, “there are still people in this school.”

“Don’t worry about that sweetheart, I am very good at doing my job,” he sneered, coming to stand incredibly close to me, “and, the best part is I am good at running away too, just like you.”

His words were creating a hammering sensation in my head. I closed my eyes to compose myself.

“Look, Isaac, you don’t know the full truth about what happened that night,” I tried to reason with him calmly.

He wrapped his hand around my throat in one quick motion, choking my windpipe.

“I just know one truth: you are a frickin’ murderer and you deserve to die, at my hands!” he bit out, angrily.

I tried to pull his hand away from my throat, but to no avail. He only tightened his hold, not completely cutting off my air supply, but not going easy either.

“But, before you die, I need some answers,” he said, fishing out a handkerchief from his pocket, “so, you are coming with me, sweetheart,”

“No!” my weak attempt at protesting died down when he pressed the handkerchief to my nose.

My mind instantly became foggy, and my ears started ringing. The last thing my blurry vision registered was the classroom door opening and two figures stepping in.
