so, don’t get me wrong I’m really liking the book but every time I read one of the characters calling their mate with ‘I love you mate’ to me it just seems as if we always called our husband ‘husband’ and no other endearing word. I think we’d get weird looks if we constantly referred to our significant others as what they are to us ‘come here boyfriend/husband/wife/girfleind’ instead of ‘come here babe/name/other endearing language’ 🤷‍♀️
