Chapter4 The 100-Day Contract
"But I earned that job through fair selection. You can't fire me without reason!"
"Isn't the reason sufficient?" Caius was surprised. "My secretary, during work hours, allowed my enemy to drug me, and then tried to seduce me into having sex with her while I was disoriented..."
Linnea felt guilty.
But she wasn't convinced. She muttered, "The job requirements for assistant secretary didn't say anything about being familiar with nightclubs. If someone was a straight-A student who never went to nightclubs, they'd never encounter that kind of sleazy stuff."
"You're very familiar with nightclubs?" Caius suddenly asked. "You're more into partying than I thought."
Compared to the serious topic they were debating, this was almost like flirting.
But Caius's manner was too serious. Linnea didn't immediately realize something was off. "In high school, I snuck into all kinds of bars and parties, many times. But that was a long time ago. And what's wrong with partying?"
"Oh, I don't mean to judge your past life. It's just that if you want to protect those old flames of yours, you'd better not let me get any information about them. I'd be jealous and hate those men, because they were lucky enough to touch my... secret lover."
Linnea almost rolled her eyes. "I don't have any old flames."
After her mother died, she did go through a rebellious phase.
She skipped class, smoked, drank, and hung out at all kinds of bars, nightclubs, and yacht parties. She was beautiful, smart, and sociable, the undisputed party princess. Countless men asked for her contact information.
However, she coldly rejected everyone. No man had ever gotten close to her heart.
"Fairly well-behaved then." Caius commented with satisfaction, but then his tone changed. "However, my time is precious. Stop wasting it. Please sign the termination letter."
Linnea was being pushed into a corner. No... she absolutely couldn't give up!
Under Caius's cold gaze, she silently wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head in his chest.
"Caius, do you really feel nothing for me? I don't believe it..."
Caius watched her with interest. The act was too unconvincing. She hadn't even shed a single tear.
"Alright, good girl, what I mean is..."
Suddenly, the sound of tearing paper came from behind.
"What are you doing!"
Caius suddenly grabbed Linnea's neck and turned to snatch back the termination letter.
It had been torn up.
And the little kitten who had just been crying and acting coy was now like a reckless lion, biting into the muscle at Caius's waist. "I'm going to destroy it! I told you, I absolutely won't sign..."
"You dare deceive me?"
Caius laughed in anger. He'd never seen a woman court death in front of him before.
He got up and roughly pulled her off the bed. "Get out right now."
"Why should I?!"
"Because you disobeyed my orders."
"But I heard the bodyguards talking outside!" Linnea shouted nervously. "I'm only wearing a nightgown with nothing underneath!"
Caius smiled coldly. "Oh, so what if someone sees you?"
"If you make me go out right now, I'll post information about your mania weakness on the intelligence network. I think your enemies would be willing to pay a high price for that news!"
Linnea had no choice but to threaten, only to receive Caius's contemptuous sneer.
"You're threatening me?"
He firmly pulled Linnea off the bed and dragged her toward the door.
Against absolute strength, Linnea was completely exhausted. She even felt dizzy from being choked earlier.
So the moment Caius let go, she missed a step. "Ah!"
But the expected pain didn't come.
She fell onto Caius's chest.
Linnea instinctively tried to get up, but after moving just slightly, her whole body stiffened. Because her buttocks were pressed right against...
Caius's cock.
How could she be so unlucky!
Linnea tried to move away from that thing, but only made it swell even more.
Caius groaned restlessly. "Mm... trying to break the thing that drove you wild? Sorry. Its style is too aggressive. It's normal that you can't handle it."
Linnea didn't dare move anymore.
She was truly afraid of that thing. To this day, she couldn't imagine how it had entered her body.
She froze. Caius couldn't help but squeeze her plump buttocks. "Keep sitting like that and I'll think you're hinting for me to do something."
This interruption defused Linnea's anger.
She softened her voice and lay against Caius's chest. "Please, Caius, please don't fire me."
"But don't you want to be my lover? I guarantee the pay will be much higher than your intern secretary salary."
"Caius, what exactly do you want! I said I won't accept being fired!"
"Hire you as my assistant."
Linnea froze. "Huh?"
Caius carried her back to the bed and brought out another contract. "Please take a look."
This was a contract with much better terms than the intern secretary position, whether in salary, vacation time, or promotion opportunities. Most importantly, he was hiring her as a formal assistant.
A formal assistant was naturally better than an intern secretary and would have access to more core company projects.
Seeing Linnea's shocked expression, he smiled and spread his hands.
"After all, as one of the few people who know I have mania, I need to pay you the necessary hush money."
Caius would actually give her hush money instead of shooting her?!
Linnea was skeptical.
But she knew she needed more than just a position.
"You said earlier that I'm your secret lover. Were you serious?"
"You want me to keep you?" Caius was direct. "Fine, but I can't give you what you want."
What she wanted?
Linnea laughed mockingly to herself. Did he think she wanted love?
"No, I'm not asking for love. I won't cling to you like some melodrama heroine. I just want your... company."
"That's it?" Caius asked with a smile. "Linnea, you can't expect to win at the negotiating table with just your infatuated heart."
Of course not. Caius had received countless confessions of love. To him, what was so special about love?
And she needed to prove she was a special kind of suitor.
Linnea carefully chose her words and continued. "What I can offer you is cooperation with doctors to treat your mania."
Unexpectedly, Caius smiled indifferently.
"I don't need treatment for my mania."
"But five years ago, you nearly died on a yacht because of your mania. It was... that girl who saved you."
Linnea emphasized that mania had seriously threatened Caius's life.
Her special constitution was what she considered her most valuable bargaining chip. After all, most people cherish their lives. Only she could save Caius's life. Why wouldn't he keep her by his side?
But Caius said, "So what? Death isn't scary. I don't cherish life the way you do."
Linnea looked at him in shock.
Death wasn't scary to Caius? Then what could she do to capture his heart?
Linnea had exhausted all her chips. She almost thought she would lose this negotiation miserably.
"However, the 'deal' you proposed is quite interesting." Caius suddenly said. "I'm willing to make a bet with you on that."
"What?"
Linnea stared at him intently, afraid to miss a single word from his mouth.
The next second, she heard Caius say,
"100 days. As long as you can satisfy me, I'll support you for life."
