Chapter 10

The mansion of the moonlit shadow pack looks more sophisticated inside. From the chandeliers, elegant designs, and marble floors.

Jasmine let go of my hand to look for Alpha Primo while Theo instructed me to wait in the balcony.

The night is beautiful. There are so many stars. I'm starting to feel a bit cold but I don't want to go back inside without Theo, and I don't know anyone inside either. I was rubbing my arms when I felt someone behind me.

"Cold?"

My whole body froze, not because of the cold night but because of his cold and domineering voice.

"Alpha Primo..." I gulp as I felt him move closer.

I want to face him but I couldn't move. I am trapped between his arms and his hands are now resting on the railings. I tried to move forward to give us space but it's useless because Alpha Primo himself moved forward, causing my body to be pressed against the railings. He is holding onto the railings tightly. His knuckles are turning pale and his breathing became ragged.

"Alpha Primo, we should go back inside. Jasmine might be looking for us." My voice came out weak. I gasped silently when his nose touched the tip of my right ear. I closed my eyes tightly. It felt like I was about to fall from where I was standing so I held onto the railings tightly.

"Hmmm... the dress looks... good... but too revealing." He doesn't sound pleased. But his voice sounds deep and hot. What... what hot, Anna?! I scold myself, I need to calm down. Breathe, Anna. Tone yourself down.

"Jasmine chose this for me." I tried to return my voice to normal. I got stunned when I felt something cold on my neck. But I was more surprised when I touched it. It is a golden necklace with a crescent moon pendant.

"Do you like it?" He asked while brushing his fingers on my elbows.

"Yes, it's beautiful." I whispered while stroking the pendant.

"Glad you like it,l. " He tenderly whisper in my ears. His lips lightly brushed my ears and his warm breath gave me a different feeling. I could feel my body burning. My mind is in turmoil, it's like my whole system is shutting down. All I feel is his gentle strokes on my arms and his warm breath on my skin.

"Let's get back inside, Alpha Primo. I think the party is about to start." I tried convincing him one more time with my normal voice. But he let out a low groan indicating his protest. "Just give me a second, Kianna... I need to do something to keep you away from those mindless predators."

"What are you-"

I wasn't able to finish my sentence when I feel his nose tracing my neck down to my shoulder. I leaned my body toward him because I feel like I'm about to fall to the ground. He then enveloped his arms around my waist. Then, he eventually settled his face on the side of my head while inhaling my scent.

"Yeah... let's go. " He said in a soft voice.

Alpha Primo turned me around to face him and assessed me. Now I can see the danger in his eyes. He licked his upper lip and his jaws tightened. Nonetheless, he still looks regal in his three-piece suit and his brushed-up hair. "This dress is perfect... but illegal." He said while running his fingers on my bare back. I bowed my head to hide my flushed face. I noticed him move, he put his coat around me. "Don't take this off, understood?" he told me sternly. I gave him a nod and he dragged me inside the mansion while possessively wrapping his arm around my waist.

We immediately saw Jasmine and Theo. Jasmine is frowning as she march towards us, while Theo is grinning from ear to ear. "Where have you been?! And why did it take you so long?" She looks upset. She then turned to Theo, who still have a big smile on his face. "And you, Theo!" She said while pouting. "I thought I told you to fetch them?"

The smile disappeared from Theo's face and is replaced with concern. He quickly looked away. "Why are you wearing Primo's coat, Anna?!" Jasmine exclaimed.

"Take it off, the dress looks so good on you, Anna. You should flaunt it." She was about to approach me when Alpha Primo suddenly spoke.

"Don't even think about it, Jasmine. I don't want this night to get messy." He warned her.

"Oh, please! I just followed what you told me. You said to make her beautiful and-" She was cut off when Theo whispered something to her. She rolled her eyes and seemed calmer now. "Fine, let's go to our table. The party is about to begin. And hon, please go get Hayden. He might be victimizing some other woman again." Theo left after giving Jasmine a tight kiss on her forehead.

We finally sat at our table as we welcomed the couple. It didn't take long before Theo arrived with Hayden, who is wearing a suit and frowning.

Alpha Pierce Andersen and Luna Yllana Kale Andersen. The two walked down the stairs with nobility and power. Despite their old age, both of them are still good-looking.

The Alpha delivered his message and expressed his gratitude to everyone present, especially the leaders of the different clans. Then, the couple visited each table. When they reached our table, we immediately stood up to show respect. The Alpha signaled us to sit down.

"I'm glad you made it, Monasterio. " the Alpha said while giving Alpha Primo an intent look.

Alpha Primo give Alpha Pierce a slight smile. "Of course, it's a privilege to be here. And congratulations to both of you."

"Thank you, dear." The Luna give Primo a warm smile.

The Alpha cleared his throat and spoke. "I believe you didn't just come here for our anniversary. Perhaps we can discuss it somewhere private?" Alpha Primo nodded in response, and they led us to the library.

Alpha Primo insisted on going in first, so we waited outside. After a while, he came out and said the couple wanted to talk to me alone. I got worried and my hands were fidgeting. He squeezed my hand and assured me it was going to be okay.

I trust him and he trusts me. I need to be strong. I also need to think that this is for Caiden and Jayden. I took a deep breath and went inside after knocking.

"Ah, good evening. " I said and bowed my head.

"Good evening, too. Come and sit down. " Luna Yllana said.

The Luna is indeed very welcoming and warm. The fear I felt earlier suddenly disappeared because of her smiles.

Now I am sitting in front of them and I don't know where to start. I am lost for words. The two seem to be waiting for me to talk. I touch the crescent pendant on my neck, thinking it might help me.

Here we go, Anna. You can do this. Just do your best and convince them.

"Alpha Pierce and Luna Yllana, I am Kianna Calliope Larsen and I am here on behalf of my cousin Caiden."

The Alpha looks serious, clearly not pleased. But I was surprised by Luna's reaction. She laughed while covering her mouth with the back of her hand.

Then she tried to compose herself seconds later. "I'm sorry, dear. I can't help it, you look so serious. I hope you don't find this offensive." The Luna gave me an apologetic smile.

"No, no, not at all. If anyone should ask for forgiveness, it should be me. " I told them before bowing my head.

I heard the Luna gasp. "Why, so? You're not doing anything."

I raised my head and gave them both a small smile. "Because of my relationship with Caiden. I know about his issues here in Gresham . I thought mentioning Caiden's name will just bring hurtful memories. That's why I am asking for forgiveness. I don't intend to ruin your night."

"You must have gathered a lot of courage to come here. " the Alpha said, still wearing a cold expression.

The Luna held his hand and continued speaking. "Yes, what Caiden did in the past brings hurtful memories." She smiled bitterly.

"Caiden reminds me of myself when I was young, stubborn but determined. You see, I always wanted to have a son but my wife almost died giving birth to our Hyacinth, so I let that thought slip away. I don't want to risk my Luna's life. I don't want to lose her. " He said and kissed his wife's hand.

"We were happy... until that day came. My daughters almost got themselves killed. Those rogues attacked them while they visited the Meyer. But, Caiden was there, he saved them... but not all of them. Our Railey... some of the rogues got her and they took her away. We tried everything to bring her back, we even used all the Galliana that we gathered but to no avail, we didn't found her. We don't have a Mystical Lake here so it's really hard for us to find another Galliana."

"That's why I'm here, Alpha Pierce."

I opened the box and showed them the Galliana. "I want to offer you this gift, from my town.... Wyverlight."

Both of them were shocked. They couldn't believe what was in front of them. "I-Is this an G-Galliana?" Luna Yllana asked with teary eyes.

"Yes, and I want you to have it."

The Alpha cleared his throat. "Primo said that you have something for me. But I was thinking of something else, the Galliana didn't even cross my mind."

Now he's eyeing me suspiciously. "What is it that you really want? Primo already told us that he's doing this for his pack but I think there's more. So... tell me. Tell me everything."

And, that's what I did, I told them everything. And as expected, they were both surprised. And the Alpha was the first to recover. "If what you said is true, then you want me to give Caiden a second chance to redeem himself. And you think Caiden can find our daughter using their connection?"

"Yes, Alpha Pierce... and I know that somehow Caiden is longing for her. I know it has been a long time, but Caiden spent all these years gathering information to make sure where she is."

"But why? Caiden did not tell us anything regarding his mate. It's our daughter we're talking about here, how could Caiden not mention anything about it. " He said while shaking his head. He sounds disappointed.

I clasped my hands together and looked him in the eyes. "Because he's scared and he thinks he's not good enough for her."

Luna Yllana gripped her husband's arms. "L-Let's do it. F-For our daughter. I know deep down inside, you still believe in him."

The Alpha kissed his Luna on her forehead. "Alright, let's put our faith in him. Let's bring her home."

"How old was Railey at that time?" I asked.

"She was eight when she was taken." Luna Yllana mumbled softly. Railey was only eight when Caiden found her. And Caiden was fifteen.

"Do you think Railey felt that Caiden is her mate that time?"

"It's hard to say since Railey was too young at that time. Girls her age do not really have enough awareness about a mate's bond and connection. But as for Caiden, he felt her because he was old enough at that time. " The Alpha explained.

After our talk, I bid them goodbye. The Alpha and the Luna both gave me a smile and a single nod.

I left the room first. I found Alpha Lucien waiting outside. He is standing while leaning on the wall. He noticed my presence and quickly walk towards me.

"Hey, how was it? Did they accept your gift?" He ask while caressing my cheek. I give him a nod. "Yes, the Alpha offered us to stay for a night and he said he wants to see Caiden tomorrow." He took a deep breath. "Alright, we'll stay here. I'll inform the others about this."

"They said they also want to discuss with you regarding Jayden's case. I think they will finally let him see her."

I grinned at him. "I'm so glad they said yes, Alpha Primo!"

Soon enough, the Alpha and Luna came out. They looked for our other companions but they went out for a while, according to Alpha Primo.

They talked with Alpha Primo for a bit. After the talk, he dragged me back to our table. "Stay here for a while. I'm going to look for Theo. " He said in a sweet voice.

I was busy eating the finger food Alpha Primo left for me when I suddenly feel thirsty. My water was already gone so I stood up to get a refill.

I was on my way back to our table when I heard someone from behind. I stopped, turned around, and faced him.

"It's good to finally meet the future Luna of the Serafine Pack." An unfamiliar man told me. And what did he say? Future Luna of Serafine Pack?

"I'm sorry, but I think you're mistaken. I'm not Alpha Primo's Luna, mister." I politely told him. "If you excuse me, I need to go back to my table." I said before giving him a small smile.

I'm already on my second step when I heard him speak once more.

"Are you sure? Because I can smell his scent all over you... even from a distance."
