Chapter 18

Elizabeth was really angry that Annalise had quit on her. She totally could not accept that! She was always the one to fire people. No one had ever dared to quit on her before! And besides, even though she did not want to accept it, Annalise was actually better than the other people that she had hired. She would have taught her a lesson if not for the fact that she was no longer working for her.

She had heard that Annalise had started her own business. She was really sure that she was not going to do well. Elizabeth believed that no one was better than her. If she could not bear working for her that she had to quit, how can she handle this?

Elizabeth could not hide the disdain that was in her voice when she asked, "Is this it? It's not impressive at all"

Annalise had put up with the taunting remarks for Elizabeth because she worked for her but since she was no longer her boss, she did not see why she had to put up with her.

Annalise lost what little patience that she had. "What are you doing here? If you aren't here for hair you can leave," Annalise said. She already had left her, she did not want to deal with her.

Elizabeth scoffed. Even the customer service was bad. How can she run a business with this attitude? "Is this how you are going to run your business? Being rude to your customers like this?" Elizabeth asked. She really did not spare any effort when she looked down on other people.

"You need to ask yourself why I'm talking to you this way. Are you here as a customer? Or are you here just to make yourself more of a nuisance?" Annalise asked. This woman is really something. She isn't even working for her anymore, why is she trying so hard to make things difficult for her?

Elizabeth scoffed again. Typical of people like her. They could not even afford to bear with a little bit of criticism. "How on Earth are you even going to run this place if you have this kind of attitude? You can't even accept criticism," Elizabeth said. She would never forget that Annalise quit in front of a client and made her look like an unreasonable boss. She was hoping that she was going to come back begging for her job and then she was going to give her a hard time, but she did not do any of that.

Instead, she went ahead to start her own place. It was an insult to her!

"Seriously Elizabeth I don't see why I should be hearing criticism from someone like you. I don't work for you anymore. Seriously don't think that I don't know why you are doing this. You are probably here because you feel insulted because I quit on you, right? Have you ever spared a thought for your attitude to other people? You are so mean and rude to your workers. You are the boss alright but the people who work for you are people too! How can you treat people like that? If you really are not here for your hair, I would like you to leave," Annalise said. She was sure the witch just came to ruin her mood.

Elizabeth flared up. She had come here to criticize and make fun of her former assistant but she had gotten a lecture from her instead. She did not believe any of the things that Annalise said to her. She was not even thinking about fixing her attitude to other people. She thought that it was because they were all incompetent and that was why they could not work for her. They were blaming thier incompetence on her and calling her a bad boss.

"That is not true! All of you are not competent enough. You are blaming your incompetence on me!" Elizabeth said.

Annalise rolled her eyes. She decided to stop talking to this woman. It wasn't as if she was going to believe anything that she said to her anyway. She was going to believe whatever she wanted.

"You know what? You are right. You are always right. You are Elizabeth and you can never be wrong. No one is competent enough for you. Anyway I already quit that job so I don't see what you are doing here," Annalise said.

Annalise had never spoken to her like this before! "Who do you think you are talking to?!"

Annalise rolled her eyes. "Of course I'm talking to you. I no longer work for you so why do I need to be polite to someone like you who doesn't know how to be polite to others?" Annalise asked.

"You!" Elizabeth was going to say something else when the two women heard someone behind them.

"What is going on here?"

There was obvious shock on both their faces when they both turned and saw Zayn standing here. Elizabeth remembered him as a client that she had met the day Annalise quit and for Annalise, he was her new landlord. What is he doing there? That was the question on both their minds.

"What is going on here?" Zayn repeated his question. He had come to see Annalise and he had heard her talking with her former boss. With what he had heard, it seemed like the both of them were having a very heated argument.

Before Annalise could say anything, Elizabeth shot out first, "And what has that got to do with you? What are you doing here?"

Annalise rolled her eyes. Typical of this woman. She didn't have regard for anyone.

Annalise was going to say something but Zayn beat her to it. He was the one that answered Elizabeth. Anyway he did not like this woman very much after he met her that day.

"What is so strange about me being in my building?" He asked.
