Chapter 11

"Butterflies, butterflies… This can't be Sophie! Not again! How could one have a feeling so strong as this for long? Oh Gracious, stop this butterfly, stop this feeling. I don't wanna get hurt again".

Sophie wails silently. She knows what she feels for Lucas. She knows how strong and true it is. And how it overwhelms her daily. ' Love ain't fair, love is cruel, love is bitter. If love is fair, it wouldn't have meted out this evergreen scar to me". Sophie thought sobbingly.

She doesn't want to let go of Lucas. Deep inside of her, she still loves Lucas and would want to have a relationship with him. But she's just scared, scared of being hurt the second time. She knows the complications that lie ahead.

She thinks of the past, she remembers her old self; what she went through at the hands of Lucas and Clara. And She thought well to say 'enough! Not again!

Gabrielle dear, tell me what you think me do? I'm in a deep state of dilemma. My heart yearns for Lucas. Living without him is like a ball floating on water. Gabrielle, I'm floating! Sophie cried out. Gabrielle suggested that she wrap her feelings and bury the thought of having Lucas back in her life. Look, Sophie, Gabrielle said. 'It's ok to cry, it's ok to feel terrible but it ain't ok to repeat the same mistake all over".

She paused and sip a drink. Then she continues, ' Look at me, Stunner. You are a much more beautiful lady. You don't deserve to be hurt, you don't deserve this shit. Wake up, Girl. Bury this shit feeling. Do you think these people ain't gonna hurt you again?"

My girl. Gabrielle said softly. You could be happy without Lucas. Get new friends and fix your heart elsewhere. Okay! Sophie nodded in agreement and mumbled, 'I will". Gabrielle proceeded to hug her and Sophie sobbed like a baby. While Gabrielle pats her back as a way of consolation.

It is said that when trouble becomes bigger, sleep is the only means of getting away from it. Sophie was seen laying in bed. She has slept close to eight hours now. Yes, she needs it. she needs it to forget about some things she wouldn't want to remember anymore. Her sleeping posture was like that of a drinker. The way she spread herself in the bed would make one guess that she had had sex.

She was still sleeping when her mother walked into the room. Oh gosh! this little pretty thing is taking a nap said the mother. Wake up, dear. You've been admitted into Alpha Peter's college. At the broke of the news, Sophie jumped out in excitement. That's great news, mum. Said Sophie. Her mother urged her to get dressed for school.

The first day at Alpha Peter's college was heck for Sophie. The numbers of students in the assembly ground were scary. As an agoraphobia, she became very scared and had goosebumps all over her.

Alpha Peter's college was said to be founded in the 60s. It was named after the ancient Alpha king who reigned and ruled for two hundred years. It was believed that the school was built for all wolves in remembrance of a teen wolf who was murdered by humans about three hundred years ago. Their motto was known as 'Never Again". In an actual sense, it means that never again shall the packs allow themselves to associate with humans. Yes, Wolves are powerful but humans are dreaded.

Since the communication of the wolves is best expressed using body language, Teacher Herold stood before the students and displayed all the teachings of the day in sign language. Sophie fixed her gaze at the board but her spirit has gone miles. Everything irritates her. The movement of the students irritates her the more. She couldn't bear the torture anymore. She excused herself to the convenience room.

In the convenience room, her breathing pattern changed. She felt fainting. She attempted breathing properly but it seems there was something that was restricting her breath. She would have called for help but she has lost her voice. She shouted multiple times but her voice was just too tiny to be heard. And suddenly she started groaning, making all kinds of beast sounds. The next minute, she was on the ground growling.

Amira, a fine female student who forced herself into the convenience room was being devoured by the wolf (Sophie). The wolf growls fiercely. And that disrupted activities in Alpha Peter's school. Thereby leaving her in a state of Chaos.

Things have gone back to the way it was at Alpha Peter's college. Everyone in Alpha Peter's college has forgotten about the earlier incident that happened. Ashely, a 5ft bunch of handsomeness has been charmed by Sophie's beauty. He follows Sophie like a bee. No, he ain't in any way trying to hound Sophie. He was just trying to get close to her. However, Sophie could be described as a hard girl. No, she's just a philophobia. Many things particularly her past have changed her love view.

Ashley on the other hand ain't someone who gives up easily, especially on the things he loves. On certain cool noon when school has been dismissed. He took a bold step by approaching Sophie. Hey Barbie. I am Ashley Bunny. Ashley said. Sophie smiled and introduced herself as 'Sophy". Ashley asked if they could sit out somewhere and get acquainted with each other. Sophie hesitated but later agreed.

They were seated in a place called 'Garden love". It's an open small field ornamented with different kinds of flowers. Sophie being a nature lover loves the garden very much. She praises the beauty of nature. Oh, Ashley, this tall tree smiles at me. Sophie said kidding. Ashley responded. 'A charmer deserves a beautiful place and also deserves the trees to smile at her".

The conversation between Sophie and Ashely was all going well until he spelt out the word 'Love" to her. She stood up and left Ashley in the garden.
