Chapter 3: He Doesn't Believe Me

Ellie curled up. It wasn’t as if she had never made love with Galvin before. Every time they had been intimate, Galvin had treated her like a treasure, afraid of hurting her. She had always enjoyed their passionate moments together, but definitely not at this moment.

Not when he hated her the most and saw her as nothing more than a tool for his pleasure.

"Galvin, calm down."

"Calm down? Why? Weren't you the one who seduced me? Weren't you the one who kept saying you wanted to marry me? Why are you acting so shy now? Or is this just another one of your schemes to make me even more obsessed with you?"

Galvin's gaze toward Ellie was filled with disgust, yet he didn't know if he had gone mad because, despite everything, he still felt an overwhelming desire for the woman in front of him. It was as if he desperately craved her body.

He loosened the tie around his neck, looking at Ellie with both repulsion and a faint, twisted excitement. The Galvin in Ellie’s memory and the man standing before her now seemed like two completely different people.

Piece by piece, Galvin stripped off his clothes and tossed them carelessly onto the floor. If it had been before, Ellie might have teasingly admired his physique, but now, all she felt was fear.

His face was cold and ruthless as he slowly crawled toward her.

Ellie shrank back into the corner of the bed, trembling, but Galvin easily pulled her toward him. He tore her dress apart without hesitation, like a wild beast tearing into its prey. He frantically licked, bit, and ravaged her body. When he sank his teeth into her shoulder, his eyes turned a deep, blood-red hue.

Galvin never expected that merely tasting Ellie’s skin could bring him such pleasure.

"It hurts, Galvin! Let me go!" Ellie struggled, pushing against him, but the more she resisted, the more force he used.

"Let go? Do you think you're so noble?" Galvin, displeased by her resistance, slapped her across the face.

Ellie clutched her burning cheek. Tears streamed down uncontrollably, one drop after another.

Her mind was filled with the words he had once said to her: "I swear, I will never make you cry because of me again."

"Lies. You lied to me!"

Ellie sobbed, murmuring to herself. The sweetness of the past and the cruel reality of the present clashed starkly. Where had the man she loved so deeply gone?

Galvin was irritated by her crying. He shouted at her, "Stop crying! If you keep crying, I'll throw you out onto the street and let everyone see how filthy and naked you are right now!"

Ellie covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes filled with despair. She knew that if Galvin had said those words, then he would definitely follow through.

Having been with him for so many years, Ellie understood exactly what kind of man he was. He was determined and stubborn—once he had made up his mind, no one could change it.

She stopped speaking, only hoping that once he was done using her body, he would finally let her go.

Galvin fiercely attacked Ellie, invading and claiming her brutally, showing no regard for the searing pain tearing through her body.

Ellie never imagined that her wedding night would unfold like this.

Ellie dragged herself out of Galvin's room, though in truth, she had been thrown out. Galvin absolutely refused to let her spend the night in his room.

She had been to Galvin's house countless times before, but never had she felt pain like this.

Every step she took sent a searing agony through her body—there had been no foreplay, no smoothness, only a violent invasion.

There was no doubt—her body had been torn apart.

Ellie let out a bitter smile. She had once dreamed of how happy she would be, spending her days by Galvin’s side.

But she never imagined that after marrying him, he would hate her this much. He loathed her so deeply that every time she met his gaze, her entire body trembled.

No! Ellie slapped her own cheeks. She couldn't afford to sink into despair like this.

Even if Galvin hated her now, wasn't it still better than when he ignored her completely, pretending she didn’t exist?

At least now, they were under the same roof, in the same space. That meant she still had a chance—a chance to help him regain his memories, to remember the sweetness they once shared.

For the sake of their past, no matter how much he insulted or despised her, so what?

Dragging her exhausted body, Ellie trudged toward the guest room in Galvin’s house.

However, she hadn’t gone far before Galvin called out to her.

"Ellie."

He stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall, his voice as cold as ice.

Ellie turned back in confusion. Of course, she wasn’t foolish enough to believe that he wanted her to stay. Yet, she couldn't suppress the tiny flicker of hope in her heart.

But Galvin's next words instantly shattered that hope, pushing her straight into an abyss of ice-cold despair.

"Did I ever say you could sleep in the guest room?"

Ellie bit her lip, unsure of what to do. After a long pause, she finally asked, "Then where am I supposed to sleep?"

"There." Galvin pointed in a direction and smirked with scorn. "That’s the most fitting place for you."

Ellie followed the direction of his hand.

A dog kennel.

Freezing cold. A chill ran down her spine, and her heart clenched.

Fury boiled within her as she screamed at Galvin, "Galvin, are you even human?!"

"Hah! You’re asking me if I’m human?" Galvin stepped forward, gripping her throat tightly and slamming her against the wall.

"A vile, despicable woman like you deserves nothing better than to sleep here!"

With that, he ruthlessly hurled Ellie to the ground.

A "thud" echoed through the air, a pain so deep it pierced the heart. Ellie curled up in agony.
