Chapter 12 They Moved Out So Cleanly
Nothing beat shopping for letting off some steam. Well, except maybe not having enough cash to shop in the first place.
Olivia and Lila were strutting down the shopping street, arms loaded with bags.
These two stylish beauties were turning heads left and right.
Fresh off a breakup, Olivia was radiating confidence, and plenty of guys were sneaking second glances, even with their girlfriends around.
Their stunning looks, killer figures, and that confident vibe made them irresistible.
In a street packed with high-end stores, even talent scouts were handing out business cards to Olivia and Lila.
"You're both gorgeous! The entertainment world needs you. If you ever change your mind, give me a call. I'll be waiting," said a talent scout in a pink suit, practically begging them to join the industry.
"We'll chat with our boyfriends and let you know if they're cool with it," Lila said with a wink, making the scout's heart skip a beat.
As they walked away, the scout watched them, convinced he'd just seen two future stars.
As they were out of earshot, Olivia turned to Lila, puzzled. "Boyfriends? I am divorced, and you just broke up. What boyfriends?"
Lila shrugged, ripped up the business card, and tossed it in the trash. "No boyfriends, so no need to discuss."
Olivia chuckled, linking arms with Lila as they headed into a nearby hair salon.
Olivia was planning to chop her hair short, prepping for her upcoming chemo.
The hairstylist looked at her long, flowing hair with regret. "Are you sure? I could style it to make you look like a celebrity," he suggested.
Fed up, Olivia grabbed the scissors and snipped off her own hair.
She'd kept it long because Daniel liked it that way. But now that they were divorced, why bother?
Long hair was a hassle anyway, especially drying it after a wash.
The hairstylist sighed at the hair on the floor and got to work on a new look for Olivia.
When he was done, he couldn't help but admire how stunning she still looked, even without the long hair.
"Maybe try a unisex style. A black leather jacket would make some girls swoon," he suggested with a grin.
Lila, already done with her own hair, admired Olivia's new look.
"See? When you're beautiful, any hairstyle or outfit works. I kinda regret tearing up that scout's card," Lila joked, and Olivia laughed along with her.
After their shopping spree, Olivia and Lila headed to the Midnight Stallion Club, a spot Lila had been dying to check out. A black horse statue stood at the entrance, looking like it was mid-gallop, with its front hooves raised and mane flowing, exuding wild charm.
"What's so great about a horse? Let's get inside and check out some hot guys. I've been dreaming of coming here forever, and now it's finally happening," Lila said, dragging Olivia into the club.
Olivia wasn't really into these kinds of places; she was just there to keep Lila company.
Ryder was seriously ill and could pass away any day. Her once-loving husband had cheated on her, and she had lost the baby she was carrying. Olivia felt like she had nothing left except for her best friend.
The club laid out a lavish dinner for them. Olivia snapped a pic and posted it on social media with the caption, [Starting a new journey with my best friend.]
Little did she know, Daniel got a notification as soon as she posted it.
In his office, Daniel frowned at the photo on his screen.
Since everything went down, he hadn't seen Olivia smile like that in ages.
Daniel sneered at his phone, thinking, 'You think you can just walk away from me?'
Just then, Wesley walked in and handed Daniel a key. "Mr. Wilson, this is from Mrs. Wilson. She's moved all her stuff out."
Daniel glanced at the key and said, "Got it."
He thought Olivia had just moved her things out, but he had no idea she had a big surprise in store for him.
Back at the Midnight Stallion Club, several bottles of champagne were lined up in front of Lila. Handsome guys in uniforms surrounded her, constantly refilling her glass and showering her with compliments.
Olivia, on the other hand, had turned down the guys around her. She just wasn't into it.
Watching Lila and the male waiters, Olivia suddenly thought of female pirate leaders from the Middle Ages. Did they also have handsome men serving them and pouring their drinks?
Olivia found the whole scene amusing. She had cancer, and even if she survived, she wouldn't have much time left with Lila. Might as well enjoy the time they had.
"Alright, enough with the wine. If I get drunk, how are we gonna play the next game?" Lila suddenly said, pushing the strippers away.
The guys watched curiously as Lila reached into her bag, wondering what she was up to.
When she pulled her hand out, she was holding a thick wad of cash.
Lila tossed the money into the air, and bills scattered all over the private room.
In a great mood, Lila smiled at the strippers and said, "You guys have been awesome today. Now, I wanna see your dance moves. The best dancer gets a special reward from me!"
Some of the guys immediately started dancing, swaying to the music and stripping off their shirts to reveal their toned abs.
