Chapter 9 The One Million Dollar Gift

Lucas called her a genius medical girl, which was totally untrue. But Patricia believed it, probably out of desperation.

"Got it, Patricia."

Back in her room, Isabella took a deep breath. George lay silently on the bed, almost like he wasn't there.

She gently removed the bracelet Patricia had given her and put it away carefully.

Isabella thought, 'If George wakes up and kicks me out, this bracelet could cover Oliver's medical bills.'

She took another deep breath.

'Since Lucas moved Oliver to another hospital last year, I haven't seen him. I hope he's doing okay.'

"I don't know if Patricia will keep her word. We're already married, but she hasn't mentioned where Oliver will be treated." Isabella glanced at George. "You Spencers aren't going to break your promise, are you? Patricia seems generous, giving me this bracelet worth millions.

Honestly, I feel a bit guilty accepting this bracelet, but for future plans and not to hurt Patricia's feelings, I had to take it. Forget it, talking to you is pointless since you can't hear me."

Isabella grabbed her pajamas and headed to the bathroom.

George remained as quiet as ever.

While Isabella was showering, her phone on the side table kept vibrating. By the time she finished, there were already a dozen missed calls.

Except for a few unknown numbers, all the calls were from Elodie, as if something urgent had happened.

Isabella quickly called back, "What's wrong, Elodie?"

"Isabella, come to the hospital quickly. My brother is dying. Hurry up." Elodie was crying uncontrollably.

"What happened to your brother? Which hospital is he in? Don't panic, tell me slowly." Isabella tried to calm her down.

"He's at Hope Haven Hospital, his head and leg are broken, he's dying. Hurry, Isabella."

Isabella hung up, grabbed her coat, and ran out.

John was coming upstairs with a bowl of soup and almost bumped into her. He asked, "Mrs. Spencer, where are you rushing off to?"

Isabella sidestepped John, saying while running, "My friend is in trouble, I need to go see them."

"Take it easy," John shook his head, thinking, 'The expensive food will go to waste again.'

It was all prepared for Isabella.

Hope Haven Hospital.

Elodie was sitting outside the emergency room, trembling and sobbing. When she saw Isabella, she threw herself into her arms. "Isabella, do you think my brother will die?"

"Of course not. Don't worry, what exactly happened?" Isabella asked.

Elodie sniffled and said, "I don't know. I came as soon as I got the call from the hospital. The doctors said my brother's car hit the roadside barrier and flipped over."

"It's okay. Everything will be fine." Isabella gently patted Elodie's back, looking up at the light above the emergency room door.

Soon, the emergency room door opened, and a nurse pushed out a young man.

The man's head was bandaged, his arm was in a sling, and his leg was in a cast. He seemed to have many injuries, but none appeared too serious.

The man's eyes first fell on Isabella, and he managed a difficult smile. "You came?"

Elodie, both angry and heartbroken, took the wheelchair from the nurse. "Why did you lie to me? All you care about is Isabella."
