Chapter 83 What does He Want

Without hitting his target, Lucas wasn't about to bounce.

Donna, right next to him, gave Lucas a little nudge and whispered, "Isabella's backing the outsiders. Are we really gonna walk away empty-handed?"

"She wouldn't dare," Lucas shot back, glaring at Isabella.

Isabella strolled up to Patricia and respectfully said, "Mom."

Ever since Isabella took off without a word, Patricia had been on edge, her face showing it. She didn't even acknowledge Isabella's greeting.

Thalia, standing nearby, sneered at Isabella. "Isabella, you got some nerve coming back here. Think you can just waltz in and out of the Spencer family? Shameless."

Oddly enough, Patricia didn't step in to defend Isabella this time, letting Thalia throw shade.

But George's face changed. "Watch your mouth."

Seeing George still sticking up for Isabella, Thalia got even more heated. "Aunt Patricia, look at George. He's totally lost it. The Jones family is ganging up on us, and he's still backing Isabella."

George ignored Thalia and walked up to Isabella, asking softly with a slight smile, "Why'd you come back?"

Isabella lowered her lashes and asked, "What does he want?"

"He wants cash, but I haven't agreed. We're still married, right?" George gently hugged Isabella and kissed her forehead.

Isabella lightly pushed him away. That kind of PDA was too much right now. She asked, "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

"It's no biggie for me," George said.

Isabella knew George was a guy who'd seen it all. If the Jones family wasn't her own, they'd probably be cooling their heels in a jail cell by now.

George was trying to make things easier for her.

But whether the Spencer family would get it was another story. Isabella had dragged their name through the mud more than once since marrying in.

Seeing everyone ignoring him, Lucas got ticked off. He shot Donna a look, and she said, "I'm telling you, if we don't get what we want today, this ain't over."

"Donna, can you stop making a fool of yourself?" Isabella snapped, her face full of anger.

"Isabella, you're so ungrateful. Don't forget, you're a Jones. Bullying you is bullying the Jones family. I won't let anyone treat you like this. This can't just end here," Donna said.

"It wasn't the Spencer family who kicked me out; I left on my own. I even took Oliver with me. This has nothing to do with the Spencers. If you want to settle scores, come at me."

Isabella took all the blame, which was the truth.

"It's not up to you. Let the Spencer family speak," Lucas cut in.

At that moment, Patricia coldly said, "Lucas, when Isabella agreed to marry into our family, it was between her and me. It has nothing to do with you. If you keep causing trouble, I'll call the cops."

"Then call them. Let them see how the Spencer family pulls the strings," Donna retorted, her chin up, showing no grace for her age.

Isabella was fuming, and Marlowe quietly said, "I think you can't handle this. Let the Spencer family deal with it."

Isabella didn't want to handle it either, but Lucas was her father, so she had no choice.

Isabella walked up to George and whispered, "How much does he want?"

"He wants ten million dollars," he said calmly.

"Ten million dollars?" Isabella was stunned.

She glanced back at the three greedy members of the Jones family who really thought the Spencer family was an ATM.

"George, I think you should sign the divorce papers now. Once we're divorced, he won't dare to cause trouble again," Isabella said firmly.

George didn't expect Isabella to come up with this idea and frowned slightly. "I don't agree."

"This is the only way to end this once and for all," Isabella said.

"Isabella, do you really think I can't handle this? I have plenty of ways to make Lucas leave immediately. I'm just worried about how you feel," George said.

Isabella shook her head, her eyes cold. "Lucas only cares about money. I'm just a stepping stone for him to get closer to wealth. Hazel was a stepping stone back then, and now I am."

"I know your feelings for him are thin, but..." George said, thinking Lucas was still Isabella's biological father.

"No buts, George. He is my nightmare. When he abandoned me in my childhood, I no longer had a father. And I still don't know how Hazel died. Sometimes I even think he might have killed her," Isabella said and hugged herself, her emotions agitated, causing her whole body to tremble.

'Why, upon returning to Stellar City, do I feel more pain from past traumas than joy from the good memories?' she thought.

George gently hugged Isabella and said, "I understand everything. I'll handle the rest."

George glanced at Marlowe, who quickly came over and took Isabella upstairs.

Patricia glanced at Isabella's back and asked George, "What's wrong with her?"

"Mom, let me handle this. You should go rest," George said, looking at Thalia. "Help Patricia back to her room."

Thalia actually wanted to stay but reluctantly agreed, "Got it."

The scene quieted down significantly.

George looked down at Lucas and his family from a distance, like a ruler surveying his domain, and asked coldly, "Will you leave on your own, or should I make you leave?"

Donna immediately jumped up and shouted, "George, what do you mean? Even in business, you have to negotiate before leaving. You want to kick me out just like that? No way."

"Fine," George said before he made a phone call, and soon a group of men in black surrounded the Jones family.

"Escort Lucas out."

The men in black grabbed Lucas, Donna, and Clara and started walking them out.

No one paid attention to their screams and shouts.

They were thrown out of the Spencer Manor, looking utterly disheveled.

"How can you treat us like this? Is there no justice in this world?" Donna brushed the dust off her clothes, feeling indignant.

Clara coughed from the dust. "The Spencer family is too much. This is just so embarrassing. What are we going to do?"

Lucas was so angry that his face turned red. He shouted at the gates of the Spencer Manor, "I'll settle this score with you sooner or later."

"Lucas, we were kicked out because of Isabella. She must have instigated George to treat us like this. You can't let her get away with this," Clara said.
