Chapter 63 The Feelings Have Completely Faded

"Alright, if you keep your mouth shut, don't expect to see this kid again."

George shoved Juniper away like she was trash. Daniel held the bawling baby.

"George, he's just a baby. Don't hurt him," Juniper pleaded, trying to snatch the kid from Daniel, but George pushed her aside.

"Juniper, even if you don't spill where the other kid is, I'll find out. And when I do, you won't see either of them again," George said, dead serious.

"No," Juniper clung to George's leg, on her knees, begging, "Please, George, don't be so heartless."

"Juniper, you know George's got the means. We've dug up everything about you. You had twins, each with a different dad. One kid's Joseph's, and the other vanished right after birth. Why'd you hide the other kid?" Daniel tried to coax her into talking.

Juniper crumbled to the floor, "You're right. I had twins. But the other kid..."

She hung her head, sobbing, looking totally wrecked.

Daniel glanced at George, then crouched down, "What about the other kid?"

"The other kid died," Juniper suddenly wailed.

George and Daniel were stunned.

'Dead? Is she for real?' they wondered.

"Juniper, someone took that kid. How could he be dead? You think lying about this is funny?" Daniel snapped.

Juniper shook her head, "He really died. I don't know why. He was fine when he was born, then he just stopped breathing. So I had someone take him away."

Daniel looked at George again, "So, besides one being Joseph's, who's the other kid's dad? Is it George?"

Juniper, tears streaming, looked up at George and started laughing, "Why are you doing this to me? Wasn't kicking me out of the industry enough? Now you're going after my kids too? Why?"

Juniper lost it.

The baby in Daniel's arms was crying so hard he could barely breathe. Daniel looked at the beautiful baby, then at George. The baby was gorgeous but didn't look like George at all.

"Juniper, this kid isn't George's, is he? You're lying, right? Both kids are Joseph's, aren't they?" Daniel guessed, seeing Juniper's face change.

Daniel got it, "So, from the moment the baby was born, you planned to use him to get into the Spencer family, didn't you?"

Juniper stayed silent, not denying it.

Daniel looked at George, waiting for his take. George, naturally, had thought even deeper. If Juniper had such a plan, it wasn't just her idea.

George coldly eyed the crying woman on the ground, "Was it Joseph's idea?"

Juniper cried even harder, indirectly confirming George's suspicion.

The fog lifted, and everything became clear.

Juniper did have twins, but one kicked the bucket right after birth. Whether that was true or not, Daniel could dig up the truth.

Joseph's scheme to use the kid to fool the Spencer family? Total flop.

Nowadays, a DNA test could blow the lid off any lie.

They ended up giving the kid back to Juniper.

Outside the community gate, George and Daniel stood by the car, not saying a word for a long time.

"I think Juniper wasn't lying, but she's totally lost it. She did whatever Joseph told her, not realizing she was screwing herself over," Daniel said.

George lit a cigarette, "If she had any sense, she wouldn't be in this mess."

"You..." Daniel hesitated, then smirked, "She brought this on herself."

George took a drag, "You wanna ask if I still have feelings for Juniper?"

Daniel stayed quiet.

"From the moment she and Joseph teamed up against me, all my pity, love, and even guilt for Juniper vanished," George added.

The past was like a breeze, gone in a flash.

"So, Isabella showed up just in time," Daniel grinned.

George chuckled, "Isabella probably hates my guts now."

"Her feelings are like the wind," Daniel patted George's shoulder, "But if you leave her hanging too long, she might vanish from your life for good."

George stubbed out his cigarette, "If she tries, I'll break her legs."

Daniel burst out laughing.

Meanwhile, abroad, Isabella had already brought Oliver back with her.

Not knowing the ropes abroad, she couldn't find the right treatment for Oliver. She decided to head back to Riverside City, known for its top-notch medical facilities.

There was a special sanatorium there where she planned to send Oliver.

Oliver barely remembered Isabella. When he was calm, he'd quietly draw. A doctor once told Isabella that Oliver's abstract drawings showed mad talent, like he was born to be an artist, which made her happy.

But patients like Oliver rarely stayed calm.

When he was upset, he'd break stuff and hit people. In just a few days, Isabella was so worn out by his tantrums she couldn't sleep.

After booking the flight, Isabella took Oliver to Riverside City without a second thought.

Even though the hospitals in Riverside City weren't as fancy as those abroad, it was the best choice since she had no ties with the Spencer family anymore.

Even with Hazel's inheritance, the money was running out.

Oliver's treatment was a money pit, so she needed a job. But her qualifications weren't enough to stay abroad.

Riverside City was her best bet.

Back in Riverside City, Isabella immediately sent Oliver to the sanatorium.

The doctor told her that patients like Oliver were used to being alone. They had their own little world, and too many people or forced closeness made them uncomfortable.

Plus, the older they got, the more they needed their space.

Oliver became a constant worry for Isabella, a wound that would never heal.
