Chapter 57 Playing Many Tricks

Patricia didn't finish her sentence, but George already understood her meaning, "You want this child to return to the Spencer family, don't you?"

Patricia said, "Yes, after all, it's your child."

"And what about Isabella? If that child is really mine, do you think Isabella will accept it?" he asked.

Patricia, being a woman, understood that not everyone could comprehend and accept such things. She said, "With her temperament, probably not."

"Since you know she won't, why even entertain such thoughts?" George asked.

"But if that child is really yours, what do you plan to do?" Patricia asked with frustration.

George hadn't thought about it. He hadn't expected things to develop so quickly and Juniper had already told Patricia. So, he needed to determine whose child it was before Isabella found out.

"I don't know either, but I won't divorce Isabella." George said firmly.

Patricia sighed, lamenting how fate played tricks on people. "Isabella is a good girl; she's deeply emotional. We can't let her down. I'm not telling you to divorce her. I am also a woman, I get it."

The situation had become somewhat tricky, but George still didn't dare to completely deny it.

Back in the study, he called Daniel to meet him.

Two cars drove from opposite directions in Stellar City and met on the bridge.

George in a trench coat stood in the cold wind, lighting a cigarette as he asked, "Any news on the whereabouts of the other child?"

Daniel took a cigarette from George's pack and lit it, looking down. "I haven't seen Juniper recently. I heard from her family's maid that she moved out."

"Juniper went to see my mom." George said coldly.

Daniel was stunned, the cigarette between his fingers hanging in mid-air, and he asked, "Juniper said that child is yours?"

"Yes."

"What did your mom say?"

George took a deep drag on his cigarette,  slowly exhaling a smoke ring. "What my mom says doesn't matter. What matters is that I want to confirm if that child is really mine."

"But we can't find that child. What should we do?" Daniel said.

"Find the hospital where she gave birth." George looked at Daniel. "That shouldn't be a problem for you, right?"

With friends being all doctors, Daniel replied confidently, "No problem. I can get you the results soon."

George threw his cigarette to the ground, crushing it forcefully, and said, "I'll wait for your news."

They got into different cars, driving in opposite directions.

When George returned to the Spencer Manor, Isabella was already asleep.

George quietly got into bed, wrapping his arms around Isabella, who was sleeping soundly.

He kissed Isabella's forehead, suddenly feeling a bit guilty towards her.

"If only we had met earlier." he said.

His face pressed against her neck, and Isabella, disturbed, pushed him away slightly before snuggling back into his arms, holding him tightly.

The next day at work, Isabella was transferred back to the secretary department.

Seeing Isabella, Molly pulled her into the break room and asked in concern. "I heard that old man was being inappropriate with you yesterday?"

"Not really, but he was quite annoying." Isabella was surprised at how quickly Molly got the news. "How did you know?"

"Didn't you see the company announcement? All those people in the design department were fired." Molly said.

Hearing this, Isabella pursed her lips. "The design department really needed a shake-up."

"Exactly. If that old man hadn't been inappropriate with you and Mr. Spencer hadn't caught him, how could they have been fired? It's called getting what they deserve." Molly said, looking satisfied on Isabella's behalf.

Outside the break room, there was a commotion.

Isabella and Molly poked their heads out to see.

"It looks like that hot star is here," Molly said.

Isabella looked at Molly and asked, "Which hot star?"

"The latest spokesperson for the Spencer Group, Ruby Griffin. Look at that entourage—bodyguards, manager, assistants, quite the spectacle."  Molly said in details.

"Why is she here?" Isabella asked.

"Probably to see Mr. Spencer. She's on her way to the president's office."

As Isabella and Molly walked out of the break room, they heard some colleagues gossiping.

"That's right. Our Spencer Group's spokesperson this year is Ruby. She looks even better in person than on TV."

"Mr. Spencer is really lucky. If he sleeps with such a beautiful star, it must be amazing."

Hearing this, Isabella felt a pang of jealousy and interjected, "How do you know Mr. Spencer is going to sleep with her?"

"Mr. Spencer sleeping with a female star isn't anything new. Why are you so worked up? He doesn't sleep with you." The colleagues' attention was all on Ruby and George. "Isabella, are you jealous? You are pretty, but you don't have seductive charm like Ruby."

Isabella didn't want to deal with them and returned to her desk.

But the gossip didn't stop, despite Isabella's displeasure.

"Do you think  Mr. Spencer will do something with Ruby tonight? After all, Ruby is so beautiful."

"Depending on Mr. Spencer's mood. I think it's possible."

Coming to Isabella's side, Molly gently nudged her arm and said, "These people are really idle, gossiping about Mr. Spencer all day. Aren't they afraid it will get back to him and they'll lose their jobs?"

"Maybe it's because Mr. Spencer has such a colorful past that he attracts gossip. Old man, always up to something," Isabella snorted.

"Shh." Molly was afraid Isabella would say something wrong, given walls have ears. "You shouldn't say that."

"But it's true," Isabella said nonchalantly. "Isn't he an old man?"

"Rich people playing with a few female stars is mutual benefit. Besides, George isn't that old. Don't keep calling him an old man, making him sound like he's in his fifties." Molly voiced lowly, afraid of being overheard.

"He is an old man, an old man." Isabella snorted.

'George was in my bed yesterday, and today he is going to sleep with Ruby. If he dares, I would break his penis.'  Isabella thought.

When Ruby swayed her hips into the president's office, George was on the phone.

He stood by the large floor-to-ceiling window, sunlight spilling over his shoulders. His tall figure cast a long shadow that stretched to Ruby's feet.

With broad shoulders and a narrow waist, even in the entertainment industry, a man with such proportions was rare.
