Chapter 46 She Had a Miscarriage
George glanced at the disturbing photos and immediately called Daniel. "Get to the Starry Oasis Hotel now. Isabella's been drugged. I'm on my way back."
Daniel, puzzled but concerned, drove straight to the hotel, which was owned by the Diaz family. He quickly found Isabella's room and barged in.
Juniper and Nathan were startled. "Who are you? How did you get in here?" Nathan demanded, not recognizing Daniel. Juniper, however, did. "Daniel, did you come to the wrong room?"
Ignoring them, Daniel went straight to the bed where Isabella lay unconscious, her face flushed. With his medical background, he knew this was serious.
He picked her up, but Juniper and Nathan blocked his way. "What are you doing?" they asked.
"Can't you see she's in danger?" Daniel snapped.
Juniper thought he was overreacting, but Nathan, scared, asked, "Is she really that bad?"
"If you keep blocking me, she might be," Daniel retorted.
Nathan quickly stepped aside, and Daniel rushed out with Isabella. On the way, he felt something warm and wet on his hand, and his heart sank.
'This is bad,' he thought.
Daniel took Isabella to his private hospital and started emergency treatment. When George arrived, she was still in the emergency room.
As the surgery was wrapping up, Daniel came out. "How is she? Is she okay?" George asked anxiously.
Daniel paused. "One good news, one bad news."
"Just tell me," George urged.
"The good news is she's stable now," Daniel said.
"And the bad news?"
"She had a miscarriage," Daniel said sadly.
George was in shock. "A miscarriage? She wasn't pregnant. How could she have a miscarriage?"
"You didn't know she was pregnant? George, you're not a very attentive husband," Daniel said before heading back into the emergency room.
George slumped into a chair, and Caleb quickly supported him. "Mr. Spencer, Mrs. Spencer is fine now. Don't worry too much."
"When did she get pregnant?" George muttered, trying to piece it together.
Isabella was wheeled out, still under anesthesia and asleep. Her face was pale and weak.
After settling her, George asked Daniel, "What's going on with Isabella?"
"Are you asking about her health or the pregnancy?" Daniel replied.
"The pregnancy."
Daniel handed him a sheet. "She's been pregnant for over three months."
Looking at the date, George remembered their first time together. Back then, he was still groggy, and Isabella didn't know he was awake. After Joseph drugged her, she hid in the bathroom, taking a cold shower until she passed out with a high fever. That night, they made love, and Isabella might have thought it was just a dream.
After that night, Isabella got pregnant without even realizing it. George hadn't thought about it either.
Taking a deep breath, George's throat tightened. "Don't let Isabella know about the miscarriage."
"Okay," Daniel agreed.
"Do you have the same aphrodisiac Nathan gave Isabella?" George asked.
Daniel was taken aback. "You're not planning to give him a taste of his own medicine, are you?"
"Feeling sorry for him?" George shot back.
"No, I have something even stronger," Daniel said, opening a drawer. "This is for my research."
George took the bottle. "Good, very good."
After packing the medicine, George returned to the ward. The drug's effects on Isabella had mostly worn off. She weakly reached for a cup, and George quickly walked over. "Do you want some water?"
Seeing him, Isabella was so scared she dropped the cup and shrank back.
"Don't be afraid, it's me. It's okay," George said, holding her frail body and gently stroking her back.
"George, is it you?" Isabella asked.
"It's me."
"I might..." Isabella's body trembled. She didn't know what Nathan had done to her.
"No, he didn't do anything to you. You're just a bit weak. Get some rest, don't think too much," George reassured her, his heart aching at her tearful eyes.
Isabella forced a smile. "Why are you back so soon?"
"Finished work, so I came back," George said, stroking her hair tenderly.
"Are you going back?" she asked.
"No, I'll stay here with you," George said, gently laying her down. "Get some sleep. I'm here, not going anywhere."
"Okay," Isabella said, slowly closing her eyes. George didn't let go of her hand, and she held on tightly, afraid to let go.
Due to the trauma, she slept restlessly. Daniel came to give her a sedative, allowing her to sleep soundly.
While Isabella slept, George prepared to deal with Nathan and Juniper. Caleb followed closely, ready for orders.
"Go to Mira, get five people, and bring them to the Starry Oasis Hotel immediately," George instructed.
Caleb nodded. "Okay, I'll call Mira right away."
"Also, call Ryan and have him bring Nathan and Juniper over, no matter what it takes. Do it now," George added.
"Got it," Caleb said.
The car sped through the night, George's expression as dark and complex as the night itself.
Mira was efficient. By the time George arrived at the Starry Oasis Hotel, she had already brought the people.
Seeing George, Mira smiled and swayed her hips as she approached. "Mr. Spencer, why the rush? These women are the most popular, guaranteed to satisfy you."
George remained silent, and Mira laughed. "How long have you been this horny? Needing five? Your stamina is impressive," she said, giving a thumbs up.
George shot her a cold glance and handed her a check. "Stop talking nonsense. Leave the people and get lost."
Receiving the check, Mira's face lit up. "Sure, you take care."
Ryan was delayed but eventually brought Nathan and Juniper to George. "Mr. Spencer, I've got them," he said.
