Chapter 34 Pregnant
"Still mad at me? I picked this out just for you. I'm too old for it."
Patricia patted Isabella's hand. "Take it. More rewards will come."
'If she has a baby for the Spencer family, that'd be perfect,' Patricia thought.
Isabella watched John and Patricia leave, then it hit her.
'Do they think I'm pregnant because I've been nauseous?' she wondered.
Looking at the shiny bracelet on her wrist, Isabella muttered, "I said I didn't want it, but you insisted. Now that I have it, you can't take it back, right?"
As soon as George walked in, Patricia pulled him over, beaming. "George, you always lie to me."
George was puzzled. "What? Lie about what?"
"I asked you to have a baby, and you said there was no rush," Patricia said, thinking of Isabella's pale face in the bathroom. "Is this a surprise?"
"Surprise?" George asked.
"Isabella is pregnant," Patricia said happily.
'Isabella is pregnant?' George thought, confused.
"George, aren't you thrilled? You're healthy, so it's natural. I'm so happy. Our Spencer family is finally having a baby," Patricia said, overjoyed. "Have Daniel check on Isabella tomorrow. And for the first three months, don't touch her. If anything happens to my grandchild, I won't forgive you."
George was utterly confused.
Back in the room, Isabella was drowsy, waiting for George to clear up the pregnancy misunderstanding.
"Not feeling well?" he asked.
Isabella nodded, then shook her head. "Just a bit nauseous."
"What's this about being pregnant?" George asked.
Isabella sighed. "I just vomited a bit, and Patricia thought I was pregnant and gave me this big gift."
She showed George the diamond bracelet.
"She probably really wants a grandchild," George said.
Isabella pouted. "She's overthinking it."
"I don't think so," he said calmly.
Isabella looked puzzled. "George, we haven't even had sex. How could there be a child? Are you out of your mind?"
George was taken aback. 'We haven't had sex?'
Isabella yawned, too tired to stay awake. "You explain to Patricia. I can't handle it if she thinks I lied."
She fell asleep almost immediately.
She slept so long that she missed her plan to be at school by nine and didn't wake up until ten.
Panicking, Isabella grabbed her backpack and dashed downstairs, alarming Patricia. "Slow down."
Thalia, nearby, rolled her eyes and snorted.
Isabella ignored Thalia's sarcasm and had John drive her to school after greeting Patricia.
As soon as Isabella left, Thalia started venting. "Aunt Patricia, is she really pregnant? She was running around like nothing. Could it be fake?"
Patricia frowned. "What nonsense. How could it be fake?"
"Why not? Haven't you seen those TV shows?" Thalia said.
"Stop stirring things up. George was already mad about the last incident. Isabella's a poor girl; we should treat her better. Don't cause trouble."
Despite wanting to stir things up, Thalia saw Patricia was serious about the pregnancy, making her back off a bit.
When Isabella got to school, Elodie and Colin had already painted a lot. She apologized and handed them drinks she bought on the way. "Sorry, I overslept."
"You're sleeping a lot lately. Pregnant?" Elodie teased.
Isabella facepalmed. "Yeah, right."
Elodie was shocked.
"I mean, it's impossible. Just take your drink," Isabella said.
They laughed and chatted while drinking. Not far away, Sierra smirked. "You know what to do, right?"
Her followers nodded. "Don't worry."
Sierra led her group over.
Isabella and her friends heard the commotion, their smiles fading as Sierra's followers dumped buckets of paint on their finished artwork.
The painting was instantly ruined.
Isabella, Elodie, and Colin didn't have time to react before more paint was thrown at them.
Sierra and her followers laughed. "Isabella, you look like a clown."
Paint dripped from Isabella's eyelashes, soaking her clothes. "Sierra, are you crazy?"
"Yes, I'm crazy. This is payback for knocking me out," Sierra said, feeling elated.
Isabella glanced at Elodie, who suddenly charged at Sierra, hugging her tightly.
The paint on Elodie got all over Sierra's Chanel outfit, making Sierra scream. Her followers tried to pull Elodie off but got knocked down.
Isabella quickly joined in, fearing Elodie would be outnumbered.
Soon, Colin joined the fray.
On the playground, a colorful brawl erupted, causing quite a scene.
"Isabella, you'll regret messing with me. Do you know why you were kidnapped? It was because of me. I told the kidnappers where you'd be."
Isabella froze. 'So it was Sierra. With new and old grudges combined, I really want to beat her up.'
"Sierra, you're asking for it. If I don't beat you up, I'm not Isabella," Isabella shouted.
"Bring it on. Let's see who wins," Sierra said.
Another chaotic fight ensued.
In the principal's office, the group of girls and one boy, all involved in the fight, hung their heads as Owen scolded them. "This is a school, not a boxing ring. What were you thinking?!"
