Chapter 29 There's a Story Between Them

Seeing the situation, Elodie felt a twinge of envy. "The Spencer family really takes care of you, even giving you bodyguards. I'm so jealous."

Isabella sighed. "What's there to be jealous about?"

"What's up?" Elodie asked.

"Elodie, if you and your husband were getting close and some woman called him away, wouldn't you be mad?"

"Of course! That's a total provocation," Elodie replied without hesitation.

"He must not love me if he acts like this," Isabella said, feeling down. "George doesn't love me at all."

Elodie quickly caught on. "Are you talking about George?"

"He went to see Juniper last night."

"Juniper? That actress? Rich folks and celebs, typical," Elodie said, hugging Isabella. "If they have history, what are you gonna do?"

"I don't know."

"George is really pushing it. You two are married, and he's still seeing her? Does Patricia know?" Elodie asked.

Isabella wasn't sure if Patricia knew and she thought, 'George is her son. No matter how nice she is to me, she'd side with him.'

"Doesn't matter if she knows," Isabella said.

"Then don't waste your energy on them."

Isabella gave a faint smile. "I know, no hope means no disappointment. But sometimes I can't help it. George is so handsome."

"Handsome guys are usually unfaithful. Focus on getting money from him. That way, even if you leave the Spencer family, you won't need Lucas for Oliver's treatment," Elodie suggested.

"Good point," Isabella thought.

"Let's go make some money. The school needs an inspirational mural. I signed us up. If we get the job, we'll be there for half a month," Isabella said.

Elodie frowned. "Did you ask me first? How much is the school paying? I'm not doing it."

"You have to," Isabella said, dragging Elodie to the equipment room.

"Why'd you take such a tough job? How much are they paying?" Elodie grumbled.

"Ten thousand dollars. We split it fifty-fifty," Isabella replied.

"Half a month for just five thousand each? Your work is undervalued," Elodie complained but started picking out designs and paints.

Isabella smiled. 'Without Elodie, my life would be much darker,' she thought.

Elodie, panting with the paint, waved to the bodyguards behind Isabella.

When they came over, she handed them the heavy paint and muttered, "Really lacking foresight."

So, Isabella and Elodie walked ahead lightly while the bodyguards struggled with the paint buckets behind them.

Covering the entire playground wall was a big job, so the school assigned a freshman to help out.

"Hi, I'm Colin Rivera. Here to help," he introduced himself.

Colin, an energetic eighteen-year-old, handled all the heavy lifting. He wasn't much help with the painting, but the meals he brought were pretty good.

"Colin, where are you from?" Elodie asked, bored.

"Right here in Stellar City," Colin replied.

"Judging by your clothes, you must be from a wealthy family, right?" Elodie noticed his designer outfit.

Colin scratched his head. "They're fake, just knock-offs."

"Knock-offs?" Elodie decided to give him a lecture. "If you have money, wear something nice. If not, just buy regular stuff. No one will laugh at you. You need to change, got it?"

"Got it," Colin said.

Isabella was focused on the blueprints when Colin handed her a meal. "Isabella, eat first. I'll sketch for you later."

"Alright, you can outline this wall in the afternoon. Elodie and I will start on the other one," Isabella said.

"Okay."

During their meal break, a classmate came to get Isabella, saying the principal wanted to see her.

Isabella, who had barely eaten, headed to the principal's office.

Elodie worriedly asked, "Could it be a punishment?"

"Who knows? Let's go see," Isabella said, standing up.

In the principal's office, besides Principal Owen and his assistant, there was also Sierra.

'Isn't she supposed to have a concussion? How did she recover so quickly?' Isabella thought.

"Since both of you are here, I'll announce the school's decision on your punishment," Owen said, adjusting his glasses.

Before he could start, Sierra clutched her head and sat down. "Owen, my head hurts so much. The school must severely punish Isabella. We can't let someone like her endanger the school's safety."

Owen glanced at Sierra. "If you did something wrong, you will be punished. The school won't be biased."

Sierra retorted, "Owen, what do you mean by that? I was hospitalized because of her. She attacked me."

"Sierra, Owen hasn't announced anything yet. Why are you so agitated? Shut up first," Owen's assistant scolded.

Owen lowered his eyes and began to read the punishment. "Isabella and Sierra, for fighting on campus and causing a negative impact, you both get an official warning. Any further offenses will be severely punished."

Isabella was satisfied with this decision.

But Sierra wasn't. "Owen, this wasn't a fight. I was beaten. How can you lie like that? Can't you see I'm still dizzy and weak?"

"I see you jumping around just fine. You don't look weak at all. This is the school's decision. If you cause any more trouble, you will be severely punished," Owen's assistant said.

As they left the principal's office, Sierra grabbed Isabella and looked at her disdainfully. "Did you bribe Owen?"

"Sierra, you better watch your mouth, or you'll regret it," Isabella said.

"Isn't it true? Look at how Owen is protecting you. If you didn't give him something, would you only get a warning?" Sierra said.
