Chapter 20 She Seduced Me

Two hours later, she woke up. Daniel saw her and sighed in relief. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

Isabella weakly shook her head. "No strength."

"I found hallucinogens in your blood," Daniel said. "But you're okay now."

"Thanks," Isabella replied.

"No problem," Daniel said.

As Daniel stood to leave, George walked in with a glass of milk. "I'll leave you two. Call me if you need anything," Daniel said.

Isabella glanced at George and quickly looked away. She didn't know why she couldn't meet his eyes. They had been sharing a bed for months, but he still felt like a stranger.

"Here, drink this," George said, his deep voice making Isabella even more nervous.

"Okay."

Isabella took a sip of the milk but felt nauseous. She put it aside. "I'll drink it later. I feel a bit sick."

"If you're unwell, get some sleep. I'll have John make you some soup," George said.

"Thanks."

"No problem." George left.

Routine questions, routine concern—just as Isabella had imagined. 'Strangers are strangers. It's awkward,' she thought.

Leaving the bedroom, George grabbed his coat and called Daniel. "Come back and pick me up."

Daniel's car had just left The Spencer Manor. "Don't you have a driver at home?" he asked.

"Cut the crap," George said.

Five minutes later, Daniel's car screeched to a halt in front of George. "What do you need?" Daniel asked.

"Take me to Nightfall Club," George said.

"What are you doing there in broad daylight?" Daniel asked.

"Take a guess," George's knuckles cracked.

Daniel shivered. "You just woke up. Isn't this a bit too much?"

"Drive," George said.

When they arrived at Nightfall Club, George got out with Daniel following.

'I probably know why George is here—to find Joseph. Isabella's poisoning was likely his doing,' Daniel thought.

With a clear goal, George headed straight for room 1707, where Joseph often hung out.

As soon as George entered, he saw Joseph kissing a woman.

Joseph was about to curse at the intruders but stopped when he saw George. He was stunned for a moment. "You're awake?" he asked.

He was about to stand up when George's powerful kick sent him flying.

The women with Joseph screamed and scattered.

Joseph clutched his stomach, coughing painfully. "Why are you hitting me?" he asked, confused.

George grabbed Joseph by the collar, dragged him out of the corner, and punched him.

Daniel winced. "Stop hitting him."

Joseph couldn't take it anymore, blood streaming from his mouth and eyes.

Daniel spoke up, "Joseph, you've crossed the line. You deserve this."

Joseph realized George knew about him drugging Isabella.

"Isabella seduced me. She wanted me to drink that drug, but I'm your uncle. How could I betray you?" Joseph lied to defend himself.

George sneered and kicked Joseph again. "Then I must apologize to you on Isabella's behalf."

Joseph spat out blood. "I'm your uncle. If you don't believe me, I can't help it. But stop hitting me, or I'll really die."

'Even at death's door, he's still lying,' George thought.

George wanted to end him with one punch, but the door opened, and Joseph took the opportunity to flee.

Daniel chuckled. "We probably won't see Joseph for a while."

Daniel drove George back to The Spencer Manor. Seeing George, John walked over with a smile. "I didn't expect you to sleep for so long. Your spirit and body haven't declined at all."

"Thank you, John," George said.

"It's no trouble for me. Mrs. Patricia Spencer had it hard. She cried every day while you were in a coma. Now that you're awake, she can finally relax," John said.

Patricia brought some tonic to Isabella. "Why did you suddenly get sick? It's my fault for not taking good care of you," she said, looking guilty.

Isabella felt much better. "It's okay. I'm not feeling bad anymore."

"Be a good girl and drink this tonic." Patricia personally fed the tonic to Isabella.

"Isabella, it's thanks to your treatment that George woke up. I'm very grateful to you." Patricia took out a long brocade box with an emerald necklace inside. "George's grandmother gave me this necklace, and now I'm giving it to you."

Isabella accepted it. "Thank you, Patricia. I'll take good care of it."

"My things will be yours in the future. As long as you and George are well and give me a grandson soon, I'll be happy."

'As soon as George wakes up, Patricia wants a child already? Isn't she a bit too eager?' Isabella thought.

Seeing Isabella's silence and blushing, Patricia gently patted her hand. "No pressure, just let things happen naturally."

At lunch, Patricia had arranged a sumptuous meal for Isabella and George. John personally attended to them.

George ate in silence.

Isabella, having her first meal face-to-face with George, felt a bit uncomfortable but still ate a few bites.

"What's wrong? Not to your taste?" George looked up at Isabella and asked.
