Chapter 115 I'll Wait for Him to Wake Up

'In my memory, Lucas and Hazel weren't head over heels for each other, but they always showed respect. So, why did Lucas forgive Hazel? Is it because the Neville family can give him what he wants, making Hazel's betrayal no big deal to him?' Isabella just didn't get it.

George went to grab the results, and Daniel asked, "Wanna take a look?"

"Absolutely." George needed to see it first.

In the test results column, it clearly said [not a biological relationship].

George stared at that tiny print for what felt like forever.

Daniel asked, "Surprised? Or just can't wrap your head around it?"

"Looks like Lucas wasn't lying." George closed the test results.

"Since Lucas wants to tell Isabella about her background, let him spill it all at once. Given how bad his condition is, he won't last long." Daniel said.

George agreed and nodded.

George handed the results to Isabella. She didn't open it, just held it tightly. "Did you look at it?"

"Yeah, I did."

"What did it say?" she asked.

"He's not your biological father." he said.

Isabella had kind of expected this, and her grip on the test results loosened a bit.

After a moment of silence, she seemed to murmur to herself, "I'll go see him."

"Want me to come with you?" he asked.

"No need."

'There are some things I need to discuss with him alone.' she thought.

The air was still thick in Lucas's room. Donna was napping with her head resting on the bedside.

Isabella didn't knock but walked in quietly.

Hearing the noise, Donna slowly opened her eyes. "Isabella? What are you doing here?"

Isabella glanced at her coldly without answering, then looked at Lucas. In just a few days, his face had become very pale, almost lifeless.

"I asked you, what are you doing here?" Donna stood between Isabella and Lucas, glaring at her.

"I have something to ask him."

"He's already unconscious. If you have something to say, say it to me." Donna crossed her arms.

Isabella pulled up a chair and sat down. "Then I'll wait for him to wake up."

Donna was silent for a moment, then said irritably, "I know what you're thinking. You're just worried about Lucas's inheritance. Actually, you don't need to worry. His will is already written and notarized. You'll get your share."

"Do you think I'm like you?" Isabella snorted coldly, "Donna, you probably forgot that without Hazel, Lucas wouldn't have what he has today, and you and Clara wouldn't have your luxurious life now."

"How could I forget? You're the Neville family's heiress, the rightful inheritor. But where is the Neville Group now?" Donna laughed mockingly.

"You're mistaken. The current Jones Group was formerly the Neville Group. I'm the only one getting the Jones Group's shares. No one else can touch them." Isabella retorted.

Donna was obviously taken aback, her face showing surprise, as she knew nothing about running a company. "Isabella, Lucas left a will. Don't be delusional."

"He has no right to distribute the Neville Group's assets," Isabella said, lifting her chin with a calm smile. "What you and Clara end up with is still up in the air."

"Isabella, stop spouting nonsense," Donna snapped, not believing a word.

'I've been married to Lucas for over ten years, and in the end, I get nothing? How can I accept that?' Donna thought.

Donna turned to the unconscious Lucas, shaking him violently while crying. "Lucas, wake up and stand up for Clara and me. Isabella is here to fight for the inheritance. Wake up quickly. Don't die. If you die, how will Clara and I live? Lucas, open your eyes and look. Stand up for Clara and me. Don't let us be bullied."

Donna's theatrics were for Isabella, but Isabella wasn't in the mood. She had more important things to ask Lucas. She also hoped Lucas would wake up, but it seemed impossible today.

Daniel had said Lucas's condition was deteriorating rapidly. Judging by the situation, he probably wouldn't last long.

Isabella walked out of the room and almost bumped into Clara, who had just entered.

Seeing Isabella, Clara immediately went on the offensive, her words sharp. "What are you doing here? Isabella, is this a place for you? Lucas doesn't want to see you."

"I don't need anyone's permission to see him," Isabella shot back coldly.

"Lucas appointed Donna and me as his guardians, not you, Isabella. You think you can see him whenever you want? No way." Clara pressed the emergency button in the room, and soon security arrived. "Please escort this intruder out. From now on, keep an eye on her. If she tries to enter the room again, I'll file a complaint."

The security, making sure to follow protocol, started to escort Isabella out. "Miss, you should leave. This room has special security protection, and outsiders are not allowed in."

"I'll leave," Isabella said, looking at Clara's smug face. "Clara, we'll have plenty of chances to meet in the future."

"Who wants to see you? Security, get her out," Clara ordered.

Isabella was escorted out of the inpatient ward by security. She stood in the lobby and called George, then headed to the parking lot.

After getting into the car, she remained silent. George didn't rush to ask. After driving through two intersections, George finally spoke, "How is he?"

"Unconscious. It doesn't look good," she said.

"What are you worried about?"

Isabella lowered her eyes and paused for a long time before speaking, "I'm not worried about the Jones Group's equity. After all, those things belonged to my grandfather, Lester. When Lester was alive, he said I would inherit them. It's a rightful thing. There's just one thing I can't figure out."

"Your mom's departure?"

Isabella nodded. "My mom's departure has always been a mystery to me. I always felt she wouldn't abandon Oliver and me, even if she faced great difficulties. Even if she thought I was already ten years old, Oliver was still young and sick. She couldn't have left us."

Isabella's emotions were a bit agitated. George pulled her into his arms. "I understand. You want the truth, even if it's a brutal one, right?"

"Yes," Isabella said, very determined.

"Then besides this, aren't you curious about your biological father?" George asked.
