Melina never felt like she belonged. She had 2 loving parents and an annoying little brother she adored, 2 amazing best friends and enough people around her to not feel alone, but she did. Everyone’s lives were moving as planned, but the weight of the expectations the society dictated were feeling too heavy on her shoulders. She tried to have relationships, but after a while she felt bored and gave up. She was 26 years old and the comments from her family about her getting married, settling down, have a family were suffocating her. She knew they meant well, but none of their wishes were hers. She was raised to be independent and self-sufficient. She didn’t want to admit it, but she wanted to fall in love. She wanted to find her person. But she was a hopeless romantic and she wasn’t willing to settle for anything less. When she felt that her life was stale, she decided to it to leave everything behind and start somewhere new.
