Avery Mills, a fresh-faced college graduate, finds herself in an unexpected predicament. Her father's political aspirations hinge on her marriage to Xander Presley, heir to the Presley Corporation. However, Avery soon discovers that her husband-to-be is grappling with mental health issues stemming from the loss of his ex-girlfriend, Lilith Meyers. Xander's obsessive-compulsive disorder manifests in his possessiveness towards Avery, who bears a striking resemblance to Lilith.
As Avery struggles to navigate her new role as Xander's wife and caretaker, she must also contend with his stepbrother Roy, who seeks to seize control of the Presley fortune. In a bid to help Xander and protect his inheritance, Avery fights back against Roy and works tirelessly to help Xander regain his mental health.
But just as things seem to be improving, Lilith resurfaces, throwing Avery and Xander's relationship into turmoil. Will Xander stand by Avery and their unborn child, or will he succumb to the pull of his first love?
